Training guide for runners

Your training, week by week

Treni builds your week from what you actually run – and rebuilds it when life happens. Easy when it should be easy, hard when your body is ready.

Built on the rules of Eirik Haugsnes, coach and head of training in Treni. The coach in the app is AI.

Easy should be easy. That is the whole secret.

Most runners go too hard on their easy days. Treni reads every run from your watch and shows whether the week really was easy enough – before it becomes an injury.

The most common cause of injuryWhat stops runners most often is not too little training, but too much, too fast – too many hard sessions or a long run that grows too quickly. Treni increases gradually and speaks up before the signs become an injury.

How it works

From your first run to a finished week

  1. 01

    Tell us where you are

How much you run now, your goal and the days that suit you. Honest numbers give a safe first week.

  2. 02

    Connect your watch

One tap, and every run comes in by itself – with heart rate, pace and elevation. Garmin and COROS connect directly. Apple Watch and other watches connect through Apple Health or Health Connect.

  3. 03

Get your week – every Sunday

The week is rebuilt from what actually happened. Want to change something? Tell the coach in the app.

When life happens

Fixed plans work – until Thursday says no

SunRest–

Tell the coach that Thursday fell through. Treni moves the easy run to Friday, so Saturday's long run stays – and next week takes into account what actually happened.

Eirik's principles, in your week

Eirik Haugsnes has set the rules Treni is built on. He follows how the advice works, and has the final say on the coaching.

Energy for everyday lifeEasy sessions build fitness without draining you. You have energy left for everyday life – and for the hard sessions.
Long runEirik runs the long run mostly easy – so easy that he can talk in full sentences.
Hard sessionsEirik runs his intervals under control – the last one should feel as good as the first.
Your watch

Run as before. The rest happens by itself.

Garmin and COROSConnect your Garmin or COROS account in the app. Every run, sleep and resting heart rate comes in by itself when the watch syncs.

Apple Watch and other watchesIf your watch shares to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), connect it in the app. Your runs come in by themselves.

Next week starts on Sunday
